The Kano State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to improving the welfare of residents through policies and programmes aimed at enhancing their socio-economic development.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf stated this during the distribution of Certificates of Occupancy (C of O) to beneficiaries selected from the 44 Local Government Areas of the state at the Government House, Kano.

Represented by the Commissioner for Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Alhaji Nura Ma’aji, the governor said the initiative formed part of the administration’s efforts to empower residents by enabling them to legally own land and build homes for their families.

Yusuf said the programme was in fulfilment of campaign promises made to the people of Kano, assuring that his administration would continue to implement people-oriented policies aimed at improving the living standards and overall well-being of the citizens.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Lands and Physical Planning, Alhaji Abduljabbar Umar, said the present administration had reformed the state’s land administration system to ensure transparency, accountability and adherence to global best practices.

He urged the beneficiaries to make productive use of the land titles by investing in development projects that would improve their livelihoods and contribute to the economic growth of the state.
