AIG RECEIVES NDLEA ZONE 5 COMMANDER, PLEDGES STRONGER INTER-AGENCY COLLABORATION
KANO, Sept. 30, 2026 (NAN) — The Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), Zone One Headquarters, Kano, Mr Garba Ahmed, has pledged stronger collaboration between the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in tackling drug-related offences and other security challenges.
Ahmed made the pledge when the Zonal Commander, NDLEA Zone 5, ACGN Ajiya Muhammed, paid a courtesy visit to the Zone One Headquarters in Kano.
Muhammed said the visit provided an opportunity to further strengthen the existing relationship between the two agencies, stressing that no security agency could effectively operate in isolation.
He said the NDLEA was willing to collaborate with the police and benefit from the experience of senior police officers, adding that officers from his office accompanied him to learn and draw from the AIG’s wealth of experience and expertise.
Responding, Ahmed expressed pleasure at receiving the NDLEA Zonal Commander and his team, and underscored the importance of collaboration among security agencies in protecting lives and property.
He assured the NDLEA of the police command’s continued cooperation and support, while encouraging young officers to maintain professionalism and sustain the exchange of knowledge and experience for the benefit of their organisations and the public.
The visit ended with the presentation of souvenirs and a group photograph.
DSP Abdullahi Hussaini, Police Public Relations Officer, for the AIG, Zone One Headquarters, Kano, issued the statement on Sept. 29.
