Gombe 2027: Ex-PDP Guber Candidate, Yayari Dumps party, pledges support for APC, Gwamna

Hon. Ahmed Yayari, former People’s Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate in Gombe State and former National Treasurer of the party, has formally dumped the PDP, declaring his full support for the gubernatorial ambition of Dr. Jamil I Gwamna, the All Progressives Congress APC gubernatorial candidate in Gombe State.

Yayari, a prominent political figure with extensive experience at both state and national levels, said his decision to align with Gwamna was because the APC guber candidate possessed the character, political experience, vision and leadership capacity required to provide purposeful leadership and take Gombe State to greater heights.

He further pledged to deploy his political experience, networks and grassroots structures towards ensuring the emergence of Dr. Jamil Gwamna as the next Governor of Gombe State, stressing that Gwamna comes from a prominent, respected and decent family whose contributions and dedication to the development and wellbeing of Gombe State span generations.

According to him, Gwamna has distinguished himself as a responsible politician whose commitment goes beyond personal political ambition.

He further described him as a leader with a clear mission and vision centred on supporting humanity, empowering people and contributing meaningfully to the development of society.

Yayari maintained that Gwamna understands both the dynamics of politics and the demands of governance, making him well-positioned to provide effective leadership for the people of Gombe State.

Hon. Yayari assured that he and his supporters would dedicate their time, energy and political resources to the success of Gwamna’s ambition and all APC candidates in the state.

Responding, Gwamna warmly welcomed Hon. Yayari, describing his decision as a significant political development and a major boost to both his campaign and the APC family in Gombe State.

Gwamna described Yayari as a pillar of grassroots mobilisation and an experienced political strategist, whose contributions to the political development of Gombe State and Nigeria cannot be overlooked.

He noted that Yayari’s experience, having served at important political positions from the state level to the national leadership of the PDP, would add enormous value to the APC and its collective political project.

He said the arrival of such an experienced and influential politician demonstrates the growing confidence in the APC and the belief among stakeholders that the party remains the most credible platform for delivering progressive leadership and sustainable development to Gombe State.

Preparations are  underway to formally receive Hon Yayari and his supporters into the APC, which will take place soon and is expected to bring together party leaders, political stakeholders, supporters and other influential personalities across the State.
