A CELEBRATION OF A DISTINGUISHED ADMINISTRATOR, A MAN OF UNIMPEACHABLE CHARACTER AT 55: ALHAJI UMAR HASSAN WAZIRI, FCA

10th October,2026

Today marks a momentous milestone in the life of an exceptional administrator, a rare breed of public servant, and a man whose name has become synonymous with integrity, competence, and honour. Alhaji Umar Hassan Waziri, as he clocks 55 years, stands tall as one of the finest products of Zazzau Emirate and one of the most accomplished technocrats Kaduna State has ever produced.

In the long and illustrious journey of his career in public service, Alhaji Umar Hassan Waziri has held several strategic and sensitive positions with distinction, but his most prominent and defining role remains his stewardship as the Accountant General of Kaduna State. In that exalted office, which is the very engine room of financial discipline and fiscal management, he demonstrated uncommon brilliance, prudence, and transparency. He did not merely keep the books of the state; he redefined public accounting with a precision that earned the confidence of government, the respect of his colleagues, and the admiration of all who had the privilege of interfacing with his office. His tenure was a masterclass in accountability, due process, and efficient resource management, qualities that remain the gold standard for public finance administration in Nigeria.

A man of honour who commands recognition and respect wherever he goes, Alhaji Umar Hassan Waziri is not just an accountant by appointment, but a certified professional to the core. As a Fellow and a certified Chartered Accountant, he belongs to that elite class of financial experts whose knowledge, certification, and ethical standing are recognized across borders. His professional pedigree speaks volumes of years of rigorous training, discipline, and commitment to the highest global standards of the accountancy profession.

Beyond the realm of administration and professional excellence, Alhaji Umar Hassan Waziri carries a royal and noble lineage that adds immense weight and historical significance to his personality. He is the direct grandson of the legendary Waziri Umar, a towering figure in the history of Zazzau Emirate, who served with uncommon loyalty and wisdom under two great Emirs, His Highness Ibrahim Dan Kwasau and His Highness Mallam Jafaru Dan Isiyaku. To be a direct descendant of such a revered statesman is to inherit a legacy of service, wisdom, and devotion to the throne and to the people of Zazzau.

From his maternal ancestry, his nobility shines even brighter. He is the great-grandson of Magajin Garin Zazzau Mahmud Baba Gana, the distinguished son of Mallam Abdulkarimu, the revered founder of the Katsinawa Ruling Dynasty of Zazzau. This dual heritage, Waziri on one side and Katsinawa royalty on the other, places him at the very intersection of aristocracy and history. His bloodline is a rich tapestry of leadership, courage, and tradition that dates back to the very foundation of the Zazzau Emirate.

At 55, Alhaji Umar Hassan Waziri embodies the perfect blend of heritage and modernity, tradition and professionalism, royalty and humility. He is a bridge between the glorious past of his forefathers and the promising future of his generation. He is accessible yet dignified, highly accomplished yet profoundly humble, firm in principles yet compassionate in disposition. Those who know him closely attest to his generosity of spirit, his unwavering commitment to community development, and his quiet but impactful philanthropy.

As he celebrates this milestone, we join his family, friends, associates, and well-wishers across Nigeria and beyond to thank Almighty Allah for a life well spent in service to humanity. We pray for many more years of good health, greater elevation, and continued service to Kaduna State, Zazzau Emirate, and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Happy 55th Birthday to a man of honour, a pride of Zazzau, and a distinguished Leader.
