The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested 25 suspects in connection with kidnapping and armed robbery activities across various parts of the state.
Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Mohammed Jauro, disclosed this while addressing journalists in Lafia, the state capital. He said the arrests were made between August and October 2025, as part of ongoing efforts to combat criminal activities in the state.
According to CP Jauro, the suspects include 24 alleged kidnappers and one armed robber. The police also recovered three firearms and eight rounds of ammunition during the operations.
The Commissioner revealed that preliminary investigations identified one of the suspects, Yahaya Suleiman from Akwanga Local Government Area, as a member of a notorious gang involved in the kidnapping of the son of the Emir of Takum in Taraba State.
He assured the public that all suspects would be charged to court and face the full weight of the law.
CP Jauro urged residents to remain vigilant and support security agencies by providing timely and credible information to aid the ongoing fight against crime.
The rising wave of kidnapping and other criminal activities in Nasarawa State has continued to raise concerns among residents and stakeholders.
