… Garo pledges  to consider Kano first

Kano state Deputy Governor designate Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo appeared before a twelve Man  screening committee constituted by Kano state parliament during its recent plenary session.

The committee  under the leadership of the Deputy speaker Alhaji Muhammad Bello Butu-Butu and equally  member representing Rimin Gado constituency is expected to present its report on Monday for confirmation.

The constitutional session between the legislators and the Deputy Governor in waiting was  a formality as by all indication everything has been finalised.

It would be recalled that, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf forwarded the name of Murtala Sule Garo (commander) to the House following the voluntary  resignation of the immediate past Deputy Governor comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo leaving the seat vacant hence deemed it expedient to look for replacement.

Arriving at the Assembly on Thursday, around 2:30 pm the Deputy Governor nominee  Murtala Sule Garo was received by a mammoth crowd of party faithfuls, family members and well wishers who spent hours at the premises awaiting  the  arrival of the  agile , amiable, industrious and easy going politician.

The way and manner in which the second  in command to be was received by the loyalists of All progressive Congress was amazing as it showed a  clear testimony  the level of undiluted support and cooperation he is enjoying from members of the ruling party.

Among those in the team of the
proposed Deputy Governor during the visit were legislators representing  Bichi, Gwarzo/Kabo, Kunchi/Tsanyawa, Dambatta/Makoda, Kano municipal, Tudun wada/Doguwa as well as that of Karaye/Rogo federal constituencies.

Senator representing Kano south Suleiman Abdurrahman Kawu sumaila and the state lMinister of federal capital Territory, Abuja Dr. Mariya Mahmud Bunkure were also not left out.

Others  in the entourage encompass the former ALGON chairmen Dr Lamin Sani Kawaji, Ibrahim Ahmad Karaye, Baffa Takai , likewise other former local government councils chairmen among other APC stalwarts across the state who time will not allow me to mention their names one after the other.

Fielding questions shortly after the exercise, the bride groom, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo expressed thunderous ovation to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and other APC stakeholders for the confidence repose on him despite all odds and pledged to uphold Kano first Agenda above all other considerations.

He moreover, used the occasion to urge one and all not to hesitate to feed him with useful advice and constructive suggestions that will propel him in ensuring the ends justify the means.

Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, before his nomination for the exalted post , previously served as  the party organising secretary, Special Adviser, Executive chairman of Kabo local government council, Kano state ALGON Chairman, commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs and APC Deputy gubernatorial candidate in 2023.
