Students of Jofay International School took centre stage in a vibrant display of athleticism and teamwork as the school hosted its annual inter-house sports competition at the Kano Pillars Stadium.
The colourful event, which drew pupils, parents and invited guests, featured a series of track and field activities aimed at promoting physical fitness, unity and healthy competition among students.
The competition formed part of the school’s broader effort to integrate sports into its academic programme.
Speaking at the grand finale, the proprietor of the school, Mrs. Folasade Obasa, said the initiative was designed to promote holistic education by combining academics with physical development.
She stressed that a healthy body plays a critical role in enhancing learning outcomes and overall student performance.
Also speaking, the Head Teacher, Abrak Yusuf, noted that the importance of exercise in the growth and development of children cannot be overstated.
He explained that the school deliberately created the platform to identify and nurture sporting talents among its pupils.
One of the guests at the event, Hallima Hussein, commended the school’s commitment to student development, describing the competition as a valuable avenue for social interaction and networking among children, which she said contributes significantly to their overall growth.
The event ended on a high note with awards presented to outstanding houses and students, reinforcing the school’s dedication to fostering both academic excellence and extracurricular engagement.
