The Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has urged corps members to embrace discipline, leadership, self-reliance and skill acquisition as they commence their national service.
The governor gave the charge at the swearing-in ceremony of the 2026 Batch A Stream II corps members held at the National Youth Service Corps Permanent Orientation Camp in Kusalla Dam, Karaye Local Government Area of Kano State.
A total of 2,422 corps members comprising 850 males and 1,572 females took the oath of allegiance administered by Justice Aisha Mahmoud on behalf of the Chief Judge of Kano State, marking the official commencement of the one-year mandatory service.

Represented by Hassan Salisu Kofar Mata, Director of Special Duties at the Cabinet Office, the governor welcomed the corps members and encouraged them to contribute meaningfully to national unity, growth and development, while commending the NYSC management for its dedication.

In her address, the State Coordinator, Hajia Halima Abdulkarim Abubakar, appreciated the Kano State Government for its sustained support, as the ceremony featured a colourful display by the Man O’ War squad, showcasing discipline and teamwork.
