The Kano State Police Command has rescued a two-year-old kidnap victim and arrested three suspects in connection with the incident in Gwammaja Quarters, Dala Local Government Area.
The public relations officer CSP of the Command Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa disclosed this to journalists Kano.
He said the case was reported on April 19, 2026, when a resident raised alarm that his son, Aliyu Aliyu Muhammad, had been abducted in front of their residence by unknown persons.
The kidnappers later demanded a ransom of N1 million, which was paid by the family, but the child was not released.
Kiyawa explained thya Following the report, the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, directed the Anti-Kidnapping Squad to launch an intelligence-driven operation to track down the suspects and rescue the victim.
He noted that the operation led to the arrest of three suspects—Hassan Umar, Abdullahi Hamisu, and Hussaini Saminu—all residents of the area.
The police also recovered N930,000, part of the ransom paid, while the child was found unharmed at the residence of one of the suspects and reunited with his family.
