The Zamfara State Government has commended security agencies operating in the state for their recent success in combating insecurity, particularly an operation that reportedly led to the neutralisation of about 100 bandits.
The State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Mahmud Mohammed Dantawasa, disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday, describing the development as a clear demonstration of renewed commitment and professionalism by security forces working tirelessly to restore peace across the state.
Dantawasa noted that the government recognises the sacrifices and unwavering dedication of the personnel, who continue to risk their lives in the line of duty to safeguard communities affected by persistent banditry and related criminal activities.
He further described the operation as a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks and address the security challenges that have plagued several parts of Zamfara State in recent years.
The commissioner urged security operatives to remain resolute, vigilant, and steadfast in their operations, assuring them of the state government’s continued confidence, as well as sustained moral and logistical support. He emphasised that the fight against insecurity must continue until lasting peace is achieved in all parts of the state.
The Zamfara State Government also reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Federal Government and other critical security stakeholders, pledging to provide the necessary resources and enabling environment to ensure the success of ongoing and future operations.
Dantawasa, however, called on residents of the state to support security agencies through cooperation, timely information sharing, and heightened community vigilance, stressing that collective responsibility remains key to overcoming insecurity.
