The Zamfara State Police Command has intensified security preparations ahead of the forthcoming Eid-el-Kabir celebrations with the convening of a strategic security meeting by the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmad Muhammad Bello.
The meeting, which was held at the Command Headquarters in Gusau, brought together Area Commanders, Commanding Officers of 42 and 78 Police Mobile Force squadrons, Divisional Police Officers, and other senior officers of the command.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Yazid Abubakar, the meeting focused on strengthening security arrangements before, during, and after the Eid festivities across the state.
The police commissioner emphasized the need for adequate deployment of personnel, improved patrol operations, intelligence gathering, and effective supervision across all police formations and divisions in the state.
CP Ahmad Muhammad Bello charged officers to remain professional, vigilant, and committed to safeguarding lives and property throughout the festive period.
He also directed Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers to intensify visibility policing, strengthen collaboration with other security agencies, and engage community stakeholders to ensure maximum public safety during the celebrations.
The commissioner warned against criminal activities such as thuggery, unlawful possession of offensive weapons, reckless riding, and other acts capable of disrupting public peace during the Sallah festivities.
He reassured residents of Zamfara State of the command’s commitment to maintaining law and order and urged members of the public to remain law-abiding and promptly report suspicious activities to security agencies.
The command also wished Muslim faithful a peaceful and joyous Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
