The Kano State Government has fulfilled its commitment to provide transportation support for Kano pilgrims participating in the 2026 Hajj exercise in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Speaking at a press briefing before the Day of Arafat, the Director General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, announced that the state government had made adequate arrangements to ease the movement of pilgrims from their accommodation to Masjid Al-Haram for the five daily prayers.

According to the Director General, the transportation arrangement was scheduled to commence immediately after the Day of Arafat, with buses dedicated to conveying Kano pilgrims to and from the Holy Mosque on a daily basis. He urged pilgrims to make proper use of the facilities and handle them responsibly.

In fulfillment of this promise, the Amirul Hajj for the 2026 Hajj Exercise, His Royal Highness, the Emir of Gaya, Dr. Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir, officially flagged off the buses designated for the transportation of Kano pilgrims to Masjid Al-Haram.

Speaking during the launch, the Amirul Hajj stated that the buses were provided to facilitate easy access for pilgrims to the Holy Mosque, enabling them to perform their religious obligations with greater comfort and convenience.

A total of eight buses have been deployed for the exercise, with each bus having a capacity of over fifty passengers. The buses have been strategically assigned to serve pilgrims residing in different accommodations.

In a related development, the Amirul Hajj, Dr. Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir, alongside his Deputy, His Royal Highness the Emir of Karaye, Alhaji Muhammad Mahraz Karaye, also supervised the distribution and dispatch of pilgrims’ luggage.

The Amirul Hajj advised pilgrims to strictly adhere to the approved luggage weight limits and avoid carrying items exceeding the stipulated allowance.

Each pilgrim has been allocated two pieces of luggage, with each bag weighing up to 23 kilograms, bringing the total luggage allowance to 46 kilograms per pilgrim.

The Kano State Government remains committed to ensuring the welfare, comfort, and successful performance of Hajj rites by all pilgrims from the state.
