A legal practitioner, philanthropist and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa, Barrister Kaloma Dahiru Mustapha, has urged eligible residents of the state to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the forthcoming elections.
Kaloma made the call during an interaction with members of the public, stressing that the PVC remained a vital instrument through which citizens could exercise their constitutional right to elect leaders of their choice.
He said meaningful development, good governance and sustainable progress could only be achieved when citizens actively participated in the democratic process through voter registration and informed voting.
The APC chieftain urged eligible residents who were yet to register or collect their PVCs to take advantage of the ongoing voter registration exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
He also called on political leaders, stakeholders and public office holders to strengthen leadership structures, promote accountability and build strong institutions capable of sustaining peace and development.
Kaloma said responsible leadership, coupled with active civic participation, remained essential to advancing the growth and prosperity of Jigawa and Nigeria. He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that promote public enlightenment, democratic values and community development.
