FUDMA Develops Strategy of Tracking Lecturers Performance

The Vice Chancellor of Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA),  Katsina State, Prof. Armaya’u Hamisu-Bichi, says the institution has developed  tracking mechanism to monitor the performances of the lecturers in the institution.

A statement by the Director of  Public Relations and Protocol of the institution, Alhaji Habibu Matazu, on Saturday in Katsina, quoted the Vice-Chancellor as saying this during an interactive session with the students of the university.

According to Hamisu-Bichi, the institution has developed  a tracking mechanism to monitor lecturers’ performances by issuing forms to class representatives to fill at the end of semesters and report appropriately for evaluation.

The VC also said that as part of efforts to boost the morale of the students, the University Management had reduced the students’ pass mark from 45 to 40.

” Far reaching decisions were taken during the session to improve the welfare and academic performance of the students as well as boost teaching and learning in the institution.

” The session which was organised to discuss issues beneficial to the students and the institution can be described as the best of its kind in the history of the University since its inception in 2012.

“Several measures are being put in place to ensure the well-being of the students is improved significantly, especially on security matters, academic performance as well as motivating them to achieve their potentials.

“A befitting students’ Centre with support of  Minister of Niger Delta, Sen. Godswill Akpabio is to be constructed and will be named after late Aliyu Sale-Damaga, erstwhile President of the Students Union Government (SUG), who died recently.

“We promised to look into all the questions raised by the students with a view to making FUDMA a good institution for teaching, learning and research”, he said.

The VC also said that is prohibited for  security personnel to beat  any student in or outside the university premises.

He advised the students to always be mindful of their  dress code while on campus and off campus, adding that  enforcement of dress code will be sustained by the institution.

On gender issues, the VC said the University through the Directorate for Gender Studies will organise sensitisation seminars for students  four times in a year.
