Sokoto State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has suspended all activities of volunteers in its command.
Spokesman of the command, DSC Hamza Adamu Illela made this known in a statement to newsmen in the state.
According to the statement, “the leadership of Commandant Muhammad Saleh Dada has noticed with dismay the unholy and unwanted attitude of some volunteers aimed at tarnishing the good image of the Corps in Sokoto state.

It says the ban followed a recent arrest of some volunteers during a joint operation in all the black spot areas of Sokoto South Local Government Area.
The statement further informed the general public that the arrested volunteers are not duly registered by the Sokoto command of NSCDC and therefore remained disowned and all-volunteer related operation activities are suspended pending a thorough investigation and profiling.
Also, the commandant appealed to members of the public to report any illegal operation of volunteer personnel to the command through the PRO
