Police and Military Tactical Operatives have commenced a bush combing operation to rescue the abducted family members of ASUU Chairman, Abdurrahman Adamu, Federal University Gusau Chapter.
The victims were abducted at the residence of the ASUU Chairman in Damba, Gusau, Zamfara State capital.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Zamfara State Police Command, SP Shehu Mohammed while confirming the abduction to Radio Nigeria in Gusau said the incident occurred at about 00:00 hours of Today (Wednesday) as reported, saying the hoodlums abducted 5 of the family members including a Staff of the university.
Radio Nigeria visited the area and gathered that, the bandits arrived the area in their numbers, shooting sporadically with heavy gun sounds.
The bandits abducted a younger brother of the Chairman, 2 sister in-laws, a niece and a nephew as well as his neighbour Abbas Umar who is also a staff of the university.
SP Shehu Mohammed said, the Commissioner of Police CP Ayuba Elkana has deployed additional tactical teams to complement the ongoing search and rescue operations by the joint Police and Military operatives and urged public to support the security personnel with vital information that can lead to rescuing the kidnap victims.
