Following the directive of the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence (NSCDC), Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi, which tasks state commands to ensure the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI), Kaduna State command has reviewed its measures in the protection of Ajaokuta Kaduna -Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline Project and those involved in executing it.
Addressing personnel on the implementation of the directive at the state headquarters, Commandant Godwin Miebi, revealed that the personnel deployed for the safety of materials and security of experts are split into four teams for effective operational purposes.
According to Commandant Miebi, the operation which lasts for 24hours throughout the week demands round the clock security protection and the command is doing his best.
The Commandant explained that while some personnel are charged with the duty of protecting experts to save them from being attacked , others are to provide cover to the right of way at the welding sites, some deployed to be on standby duty both day and night and the last team is charged with clearance operations.
“In the course of the muster parade before deployment, the Commandant appreciated participants in the operation for the good work, charging them not to leave any stone unturned to ensure its success.
He reminded them that as a lead agency in Anti-vandal activities, the Commandant General would not condone compromise and non-performance saying CG’s meeting with Head of Anti-vandal Units at the Headquarters of the corps in Abuja was to interact with them and encourage them for maximum result.
“Kaduna State command cannot afford to perform differently because we are known for effective discharge of our duties and I encourage all of you to redouble your efforts in order to justify the confidence reposed in us.
