The Kano Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) says it would implore the services of volunteers in the prevention the displacement of people and provide care to Internally Displaced Persons.
The state Commandant, Mr. Adamu Idris-Zakari, stated this during a ceremony in commemoration of the 2022 World Civil Defence Day held at the command headquarters in kano.
He said the day was celebrated with regards to the management of the current crisis relative to the Covid 19 pandemic.
The Commandant noted that the impact of the pandemic should not allow the defense fence to forget the suffering of populin action in the face of crisis and other kinds.

“In the event of an emergency, people always intervene first, if they are trained and recognized as volunteers the community will be more resilient”
“The end of 2019 was marked by the arrival of Coronavirus which causes despair within human communities due to its virulence and decision making, the solution to problems and to protect populations”
Commandant Idris idris Zakari urged the international community to strengthen national legislation for the development and sustainability of volunteerism for communities that are more resilient to risk disaster and fight against the pandemic.
The International Civil Defence Day was themed Civil Defence and Management of Displaced Populations in Face of Disaster and Crises, Role of Volunteers, and the Fight Against Pandemics.
