The Kano State Police Command has arrested a man impersonating a Nigerian soldier, robbing and extorting individuals in the state of their money and valuables.
Police Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Kiyawa, revealed this through a press statement.
He said the alleged impersonator, identified as Chidera Aruna, was first arrested by personnel of the 455 Base Services Group of the Nigerian Air Force Kano, in Sabon Gari Quarters of the state, and subsequently handed over to the Kano State Police Command.
The suspect was apprehended with 3 phones, as he confessed to committing the crime, saying that he was neither a military officer nor security personnel.
Upon investigation, Chidera was found in possession of two iPhones, other android Handsets and an Infinix Mobile Phone, suspected to have been robbed.
The suspect, according to the statement, will be charged to court on completion of the investigation.
