The handing and taking over ceremony of the command of 3 Brigade Nigerian Army Kano between the outgoing Commander , Brigadier General Sinyinah Nicodemus and incoming Commander , Brigadier General Jamiu Are, was conducted on Friday 19 August 2022 at Headquarters 3 Brigade Nigerian Army Bukavu Barracks Kano.
Speaking during the brief ceremony, the outgoing Commander Brigadier General Nicodemus appreciated officers and soldiers of the Brigade for their support and dedication displayed during his tour of duty in the Brigade and charged all to redouble their efforts, support and loyalty to the new Commander.
In a similar vein, the incoming Commander Brigadier General Jamiu Are, thanked the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) for finding him worthy of this great responsibility and appreciated the outgoing Commander for his foresight in the discharge of his duties during his tour of duty. He further urged officers and soldiers to work as a team and demonstrate professionalism during the discharge of their duties.
The outgoing Commander, Brigadier General Nicodemus is posted to Defence Headquarters Abuja while the incoming Commander is the immediate past Director Army Headquarters Department of Standard and Evaluation (DASE) Abuja.
Highlight of the ceremony was the signing of the handing and taking over notes, address to troops by the outgoing Commander and decoration of the incoming Commander with Brigade’s insignia.
