The kano state police command says over three hundred suspects were been arrested for various criminal offenses in the state.
The commissioner of police in kano Lawal Abubakar disclosed this while parading the suspects at Bompai the headquarters of police in Kano.
He said Three Hundred and Thirty-One suspects were arrested for major offenses ranging from Armed Robbery, Kidnapping, Car Theft, Thuggery, Drug Abuse, and others.
The Command according to the CP has reviewed it’s anti-crime strategies and conducted discreet investigations on aliases.
CP Lawal Abubakar maintained that 51 suspects were for Armed Robbery, 69 for Kidnapping, 12 fraudsters, 7 Human Traffickers, 18 for Motor Vehicles and Tricycles Thefts, 6 Drug Dealers, and 168 Suspected Thugs (Yan daba).
He said Most of the arrested suspects were charged to court for prosecution.
The commissioner of police noted that the command also succeeded in recovering 27 Rifles, including 6 AK-47s, 4 Baretta Pistols, 1 English Pistol, 1 Double Barrel Gun, 1 Locally Made SMG and 6 locally Made Pistols others are 2 Locally Made Revolver Pistols, 6 Dane Guns, 24 Motor Vehicles,12 Tricycles, 2 Motorcycles and 94 Knives.
“Drugs recovered from various suspects, addicts, and, dealers are 306 Parcels and 263 Wraps of Dried leaves Suspected to be Indian Hemp, 2 Cartons of Suspected Tramadol Tablets, 1,213 pieces of Exol Tablets. 48 Pieces of Robber Solution, 30 Motor Vehicle Batteries, 9 Ceiling Fans, 1 Plasma TV, 1 Grinding Machine, 75 Mobile Phones, 1 Iron Cutter, Bunch of Master Keys and others.”
He added that the command also rescue 11 Kidnapped Victims and 17 victims o Trafficking.
