Governor Badaru Abubukar of Jigawa state has approved the appointment of Former Commissoner of Police Aliyu Saleh Tafida as Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters.
This was contained in a statement signed by and made available to Radio Nigeria by the public relations officer, offices of the Secretary to the state government and Head of the service, Alhaji Ismaila Ibrahim Dutse.
Ismaila Ibrahim Dutse said Aliyu Saleh Tafida, was a retired Commissoner of Police, served in the state command from August, 2021 to September, 2022.
He said the newly appointee also served as Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operation zone 3 Yola, Adamawa state.
According to him, Saleh Tafida also served as Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Administration and finance, Taraba State and Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, Plateau State Command, after which he was elevated to the substantive rank of Commissioner of Police and posted to Jigawa State Police command in August, 2021.
He said, the appointment is with immediate effect.
