The newly posted Commissioner of Police to Kano state, CP Mamman Dauda has says the command has mapped out strategies that are based on deepening the implementation of Community Policing to the grass root level towards addressing ethical and professional issues that impacts on trust between the police and the public.
CP Mamman Dauda disclosed this during an interactive session with officers and Members of the Press at the Police Officers Mess, Bompai, Kano.
He said to achieve the missions and visions of the command, they will partner with other security agencies in the state and other critical stakeholders to include: traditional rulers, religious leaders, CSOs, Members of the Police Community Relations Committee, NGOs, The Media, Human Rights Groups and others.
CP Mannan Dauda maintained that use of technologies in operations and investigations, intelligence-led policing as well as visibility policing, strengthening the communication unit of the command, and synergy with sister security agencies and community policing stakeholders, would be the major basis for the commands Anti-crime action Plan.

“We will continue to engage Officers and Men of the command in regular seminars, workshops, training and re-training, especially in the areas of administration, operations and investigations to meet the demands of the dynamic society” CP Dauda added.
The commissioner further explained that as the heat of the 2023 general elections is increasing, the command will continue to engage political party leaders to ensure a peaceful electioneering process.
CP Mamman Dauda however, charged officers and men of the command to strictly adhere to provisions of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, The Police Act, and Respect of Fulfillment Rights in line with International Best Practices to ensure that police in Kano Command perform professionally towards effective and efficient service delivery to citizens of Kano state.
In his remarks, the Kano state Chairman of NUJ, Comrade Abbas Ibrahim welcomed the new CP on behalf of journalists in Kano state and gave his assurances of continuous maximum support and cooperation in ensuring a crime-free kano state.
