The Northwest All Progressive Congress (APC) Social Media Forum has appealed to Northerners to avoid participating in the planned nationwide protest against the current economic situation.
Forum Chairman, Alhaji Ahmed Rufa’i-Gumel, stated this while briefing journalist in Kano.
He warned that protests can lead to violence, social unrest, and even military rule, citing examples of countries that have suffered due to protests.
“Dear northerners Say no to protest it is not a way out. Protest leads to violence,social unrest, starvation, arson,life lost and internal war.
“Nigeria is the only place we can truly call our own.Give the government more time to fix everything” Rufa’i-Gumel said
Rufa’i-Gumel expressed confidence in the government’s efforts to address the economic challenges, urging Northerners to give them more time.
He also cautioned youths against engaging in disruptive activities and called on the government to accelerate social infrastructure development to alleviate hardship.
