The 2027 Campaign Blueprint Committee of Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has proposed 16 strategic pillars backed by Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to guide the administration’s policy direction for a possible second term.

The committee made the proposal at its maiden meeting held on Saturday, where it resolved to review the implementation of the administration’s 2023 Blueprint 1.0, titled “My Commitment for Kano,” and develop Blueprint 2.0 for the 2027–2031 period.

The meeting, chaired by Dr Aminu Magashi Garba, was attended by seasoned administrators, heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), special advisers, academics, former commissioners and managing directors.

The committee reviewed a draft framework containing 16 strategic pillars grouped into six thematic areas, with each pillar supported by strategic objectives, key activities and measurable performance indicators.

It also deliberated on Governor Yusuf’s priorities and strategic vision for the proposed second term, resolving to engage stakeholders from both state and non-state sectors to generate innovative ideas and policy recommendations.

According to the committee, the proposed blueprint is expected to be comprehensive, inclusive and people-driven, with the objective of consolidating the gains of the present administration and accelerating the development of Kano State.

The members reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the governor’s Kano First Agenda in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda, while Magashi Garba, in his opening remarks, stressed the importance of teamwork, resilience, professionalism, passion and patriotism in discharging the committee’s responsibilities.

The members also pledged their support for the committee’s objectives and emphasised the need for extensive stakeholder engagement to incorporate citizens’ inputs into the development process.

The committee resolved to meet twice weekly, comprising one virtual and one physical meeting, with the aim of producing a draft blueprint for launch by Governor Yusuf in September 2026.

It further planned to use the blueprint as a basis for town hall meetings with various stakeholders and groups, as well as sustained media engagement throughout the electioneering period.

The committee is expected to work under the supervision of Governor Yusuf and his Deputy, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, while all serving commissioners are expected to submit memoranda to enrich the blueprint development process and promote inclusivity.

Signed:
Dr Aminu Magashi Garba
Chairman, AKY 2027 Campaign Blueprint Committee
