The Federal Controller of Works in Kano, Mr. Abdulsalam Dayyabu-Kurfi, disclosed this in during an interview with the Newsmen.

He said the projects, implemented between June 2024 and June 2026, underscored the Federal Government’s commitment to improving road infrastructure and promoting socio-economic development in the state under the leadership of the Minister of Works,  David Umahi.

Dayyabu-Kurfi said major projects undertaken during the period included the dualisation of the Kano–Kwanar Danja–Hadejia Road, the award of the 37.018-kilometre Kano Northern Bypass, the re-award of sections of the Abuja–Kaduna–Kano Road, and the commencement of Section I of the Kano–Maiduguri Road from Kano to Shuwarin.

He noted that the 38.7-kilometre Yakasai–Badume–Damargu–Marken Zalli Road had also been completed.

He explained that 27 emergency road projects were awarded in 2024, out of which 24 had been completed while two were ongoing, adding that all 12 emergency intervention projects executed in Kano had been successfully completed.
