A group, Gombe Diaspora, has endorsed Dr. Jamilu Isiyaku Gwamna for the 2027 Gombe State governorship election, describing him as the most suitable candidate to lead the state based on what it called his experience, integrity and commitment to development.
The endorsement was contained in a statement signed by the Chairman of the group, Hon. Tanimu Tijjani Gombe, and made available to newsmen on Monday. The group said the decision followed consultations with its members both within Nigeria and across the diaspora.
According to the statement, the group believes Gwamna possesses the competence, vision and leadership qualities required to move Gombe State forward. It added that its position was guided by the principles of equity, fairness, inclusiveness and political balance.
The group also pledged to mobilise financial and other resources to support Gwamna’s governorship aspiration, including his campaign during the party primaries and the main election. It said members of the diaspora had continued to contribute to the state’s economy through investments, entrepreneurship, remittances and community development initiatives.
The statement further called on the people of Gombe State, irrespective of political, ethnic or religious affiliation, to support Gwamna’s aspiration in the interest of justice, unity and sustainable development. It added that the group remained committed to mobilising Gombe indigenes in the diaspora to contribute toward the emergence of leadership that would promote peace, prosperity and inclusive growth in the state.
