FG’s Agricultural Drive Will Strengthen Food Security – FCAPTECH Provost

The Federal Government’s commitment to boosting agricultural production will strengthen food security and enhance the development of Nigeria’s agricultural sector.

The Provost, Federal College of Agricultural Produce Technology, Kano, Dr Salisu Salisu, stated this at a reception organised by the Academic Staff Union of Agriculture Colleges, FCAPTECH Branch, to congratulate him on his confirmation as Provost.

Dr Salisu said his administration would upgrade academic activities and strengthen agricultural training and productivity to enable the institution contribute effectively to national food security.

He said improving the welfare of staff and students would remain a major priority of his administration, noting that a motivated workforce was essential for effective service delivery.

The Provost also disclosed plans to expand academic programmes through the introduction of courses that would promote agricultural production, processing and value addition.

He called for the support and cooperation of staff and students in achieving the objectives of his administration.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Agriculture Colleges, FCAPTECH Branch, Comrade Abubakar Mohammad, described the confirmation of Dr Salisu as timely.

He urged the new management to intensify efforts toward academic excellence and effective service delivery, assuring the Provost of the union’s full support and cooperation.

The ceremony was graced by members of the academic staff union of colleges of agriculture and other stakeholders.
