Barau Campaign Media Centre Chairman Resigns

The Chairman of the Barau Jibrin Campaign Media Centre, Comrade Abdullahi Umar Bichi, has resigned from his position, according to a statement issued by him.

Bichi expressed appreciation to Senator Barau I. Jibrin and the Director-General of the Media Centre, BYS Shuwaki, for the opportunity to serve and contribute to the activities of the organisation.

He also thanked members of the media team for their cooperation, loyalty and support throughout his tenure, describing his experience as rewarding and memorable.

However, Bichi did not disclose the reason for his resignation, while no successor was announced in the statement.

The development comes amid reported political realignments within Senator Barau’s political camp in Kano North ahead of the 2027 political cycle. The report also cited claims by political analysts linking the reported changes to emerging ambitions and alignments among politicians in the state and at the national level.

As of the time of the report, Senator Barau’s media team, headed by Ismaila Mudashir, had not publicly responded to Bichi’s resignation.
