Admin An explosion on Sunday rocked a gas refilling outlet along the newly inaugurated Arab Road, close to Liberty Junction in Kubwa, Abuja, causing panic among residents.
The explosion, which occurred in the morning, triggered a fire at the gas facility, with blasts uprooting installations, including signposts, and affecting nearby buildings.
The impact of the blasts also shook buildings several metres away from the scene, sending residents and passers-by into panic.
Personnel of the Federal Fire Service arrived at the scene and were battling to contain the inferno as of the time of filing this report.
The cause of the explosion and the extent of damage or possible casualties had yet to be ascertained.
