NRS Takes Tax Reforms, Rev360, E-Invoicing Campaign to Kano Taxpayers

The Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) has engaged taxpayers and other stakeholders in Kano on the ongoing tax reforms, Rev360 and E-Invoicing initiatives aimed at simplifying tax administration and improving compliance.

The Executive Chairman of NRS, Dr Zacch Adedeji, stated this during the 2026 Kano Town Hall Meeting for Medium and Emerging Taxpayers, held in Kano.

Adedeji, represented by Group  Director-Government Business Wande said the reforms were designed to make tax administration simpler, more transparent, predictable and easier for taxpayers to comply with.

He said Rev360 was intended to bring key taxpayer services, including registration, filing, payment and interaction with the Service, into a more accessible system, while E-Invoicing would improve the quality and accuracy of transaction information and reduce avoidable disputes.

The NRS Chairman said Medium and Emerging Taxpayers were particularly important to the nation’s economy because their growth would lead to increased investment, job creation, expansion of markets and a broader tax base.

He urged taxpayers to use the town hall meeting to ask questions, raise concerns and provide feedback on the implementation of the reforms, stressing that their practical experiences would help the Service improve its processes.

Adedeji said the NRS would continue to improve taxpayer education, simplify processes, deploy useful digital solutions and engage directly with businesses to make voluntary compliance easier.

Also speaking, the Group Director, Customer Service, NRS, Mrs Lovette Ononuga, said the meeting was organised to provide taxpayers and other stakeholders with an opportunity to interact directly with the management and staff of the Service.

Ononuga said the new tax reforms, which commenced in January 2026, as well as the introduction of the new tax administration platform and E-Invoicing, had necessitated direct engagement with taxpayers across the country.

She said Kano was included in the engagement because taxpayers in the state would have questions and require clarification on the new tax laws and digital platforms.

Ononuga said the NRS had organised similar engagements in other parts of the country and would continue to engage stakeholders to ensure that the reforms achieved their intended objectives.

Some of the participants of the townhall meeting lauded Nigeria Revenue service for organizing the meeting.

The meeting, with the theme, “Tax Reform, Rev360 and E-Invoicing: Shaping the Future of Compliance for Medium and Emerging Taxpayers,” was attended by NRS officials, taxpayers, business owners, professional bodies, organised private sector representatives and other stakeholders.
