Gov. Uba Sani of Kaduna State has assured members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of equal treatment and justice, irrespective of when they joined the party.
Sani gave the assurance while receiving thousands of members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) who defected to the APC in Zaria.
He urged APC members to focus on preparations for the forthcoming general elections to enable President Bola Tinubu’s administration to continue its developmental projects.
The governor said the reception of the defectors, including Malam Bashir Sa’idu, Sen. Sulaiman Abdu Kwari and Malam Jafaru Sani, demonstrated growing support for the APC in the state.
He expressed confidence in the party’s electoral prospects in Kaduna, adding that the political situation had changed significantly.
Sani urged APC supporters to maintain peaceful relations with other residents and support the delivery of democratic dividends and the sustenance of democratic governance.
The governor presented APC flags to the defectors at the event, formally welcoming them into the party.
Thousands of ADC members reportedly joined the APC during the ceremony.
