TRADOC Commander Charge Cadets on Physical and Mental Fitness as Future Commanders.

The Commander, Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Nigerian Army, Major General Stephen Olabanji,has charged 295 Cadets of Short Service Course 47 (Army) to, upon passing out of the Academy, as Commissioned Officers of the Nigerian Army, always engage themselves in activities that would make them stay physically and mentally fit for the rigorous task of defending the territorial integrity of the nation and subduing all threats to national security.

General Olabanji, who was the special guest of honour at the event, gave this charge to the Cadets at the Table Hill, Kachia, on the occasion of the Battle Innoculation and fire power demonstration of the exercise Camp Highland, the last outfield exercise for the Cadets.

The TRADOC Commander,who expressed satisfaction with the performance of the Cadets during the exercise,noted that the exercise which was designed to imbue confidence in them,was also aimed at exposing the Cadets to battle situations and what they may face in real life battle situations.

General Olabanji, who underscored the importance of physical fitness and positive attitude to work and command, used the occasion to urge the Cadets to remain focused and disciplined in the discharge of assigned tasks, upon passing out of the Academy, also thanked the Commandant Nigerian Defence Academy, Major General Ibrahim Manu Yusuf for providing realistic training to the Cadets.

General S Olabanji also used the occasion to thank the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Farouk Yahaya for providing quality leadership to the Nigerian Army.

Earlier in his welcome address,the Director of Military Training of the academy Brigidier-General Emmanuel Ekeh said” the 295 Cadet that include 65 Females have undergon various Training Exercises in the academy which make them strong as future Officers that will enable them to Attack all threat and defend the National Security as future Commanders.

The occasion was capped by a novelty shooting by dignitaries and invited guests,as well as National Youth Service Corps members serving at the Academy and a presentation of a souvenir to the special guest of honour by the Commandant, NDA, Major General Ibrahim Manu Yusuf.
