In line with the recent posting of senior officers by Headquarters, Nigerian Army Department of Military Secretary, Major General Peter Paturmala Malla has assumed Command as the 36th Commandant of Depot Nigerian Army, Zaria.
In a statement issued by the Assistant Director Army Public Relations, Depot Nigerian Army, Captain Dauda Iliya said
the handing and taking over ceremony was held at the Headquarters Depot Nigerian Army, Chindit cantonment, Zaria.
Maj Gen Malla appreciated the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt Gen Faruk Yahaya for the rare privilege afforded him in piloting the affairs of Depot NA for the foreseeable future.
He urged personnels to be professional and dependable material managers in moving Depot NA to an enviable height.
,Maj Gen Malla also averred that officers and men of the Institution must sustain Depot’s status of producing manpower for the Nigerian Army in defence of Nigeria’s territorial integrity.
In his farewell address, the outgone Commandant Depot Nigerian Army, Maj Gen Aminu Shehu Chinade, who has been redeployed as the new General Officer Commanding 2 Division Nigerian Army appreciated the COAS for granting him the opportunity to have served as the Commandant Depot Nigerian Army Zaria.
Maj Gen Chinade also urged the personnel to give the new Commandant support and cooperation required to ensure further successes.
Highpoints of the occasion were the signing of handing and taking over notes, inspection of quarter guard, handing and taking over of Depot flag.
