Petrol prices have continued to fluctuate across Nigeria, with retail prices in Abuja ranging between N1,370 and N1,420 per litre in the past week.
The Dangote Refinery’s gantry price remained at N1,350 per litre, while some depot owners reduced their ex-depot prices by between N5 and N6 to N1,344 and N1,345 per litre.
A survey of filling stations showed that retail prices recorded mixed movements, as some operators increased their pump prices while others reduced them.
MRS filling stations raised their petrol prices to N1,409 per litre, while some Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) outlets initially reduced their prices to N1,370 before increasing them to N1,405 per litre at the weekend.
The fluctuations came amid the Federal Government’s proposed plan to fix petrol prices at N1,350 per litre at NNPCL filling stations, as announced by President Bola Tinubu through the Minister of Finance, Mr Taiwo Oyedele.
However, the proposed price arrangement had yet to be implemented as of the period under review, leaving motorists to pay varying prices depending on the filling station and location.
