The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Sen. David Mark, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former Governor of Delta State, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan.
Mark, in a condolence message on Sunday, described Uduaghan’s passing as a painful loss to Delta State, the Niger Delta region and Nigeria.
He said the death of the former governor was particularly saddening, given his contributions to public service and the development of Delta State during his years in leadership.
He noted that Uduaghan’s years in public office placed him at the centre of efforts to advance peace, development and improved living conditions for the people of Delta State.
According to Mark, the late former governor’s experience in governance and his service to the people would remain an important part of his public legacy.
“Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan’s death is a painful loss to Delta State and our country. He was a public servant who devoted a significant part of his life to the service of his people and the development of his state.
“His passing is a moment of grief for his family, the people of Delta State and all those who had the privilege of working with him or benefiting from his years of service.
“At a time like this, our thoughts and prayers are with his immediate family, the government and people of Delta State, as well as his friends, associates and political colleagues,” Mark said.
The ADC National Chairman extended his condolences to the Uduaghan family, praying that God would grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
He also urged the people of Delta State to take solace in the enduring value of public service and the contributions made by the late former governor during his lifetime.
Mark prayed for the peaceful repose of Uduaghan’s soul.
