An international donor partner, Global Fund has engaged community organizations for fight against the spread of HIV, Tubercloses and malaria diseases in Jigawa state.
Speaking at media presentation on the activities of the partner that remanaged by Network Of People With HIV and Aids in Nigeria NEPWHAN, the Jigawa state project coordinator Abdulaziz Ibrahim explained that, the project is designed to achieve it’s targeted goals through community ownerships.

He further explained that, they have already trained and built the capacity of many community organizations in five local government areas of the state.
According to him, the local government areas include Sule Tankarkar, Gwaram, Birniwa, Roni and Taura.
Abdulaziz Ibrahim said, the projects is working towards ending HIV and Aids, Tuberculosis and malaria diseases in the society with additional intervention for COVID-19.
“Under this project we are building the capacity of Community Organization and Government at different levels for strengthening health information system coordinating and managing health projects, delivering health service in sustainable and equitable manner for better public healthcare service delivery outcome “
” In the last one year our engagement with CBO has yielded fruitfull results as involved community executed many projects at their health facilities, this is clear demonstration of their commitment and taken ownership in public healthcare service delivery “
” Such project executed by the community organization include renovation of floor, Roofing, provision of seats for the patients,storage facilities, toilet among others and these can be found at Zugai PHC, Hannun Giwa PHC, Maje PHC, Batu PHC among others”
Time Express reports that, during the media briefing, the representatives of various community organizations, traditional and religious leaders have reiterated their commitment to work with partners to end the three diseases which in return will save million of lives in the state and beyond.
