The Federal Government has given its seal of approval for the conversion of the Federal College of Education, Kontagora to Federal University of Education, Kontagora.
This landmark decision marks the beginning of a new era for the institution, and all eyes are on a seamless transition that will ensure the university continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of education in Nigeria.
In a move that has been widely welcomed, Professor Faruk Rashid Haruna has been appointed as the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the newly-established Federal University of Education, Kontagora.
Professor Haruna, who has been at the helm of the Federal College of Education, Kontagora since 2018, brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of leadership to his new role.¹
As part of the transition process, Professor Haruna has been directed to ensure that other Principal Officers continue to discharge their duties in an acting capacity until substantive appointments are made.
He has also been tasked with submitting a comprehensive report on the institution’s staffing, students, infrastructure, procurements, and accounts.
The university community has been urged to cooperate fully with the new administration to ensure a smooth transition. As the Federal University of Education, Kontagora embarks on this exciting new chapter, all stakeholders are optimistic about the institution’s potential to make a lasting impact on the education sector in Nigeria.
