The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Kano State Command, has received a donation of solar panels for the Medium Security Custodial Centre (MSCC), Wudil, to improve electricity supply and security at the facility.
The donation was made by the Member representing Wudil/Garko Federal Constituency, Hon. Abdulhakim Kamilu Ado Wudil, as part of his humanitarian intervention and support for critical institutions in the constituency.
Receiving the items, the Officer-in-Charge of the centre, CSC Ibrahim Wada, expressed appreciation to the lawmaker, describing the gesture as timely and significant in addressing the facility’s lighting needs.
Wada said reliable lighting was essential for the effective operation and security of custodial centres, particularly at night, adding that the donation would contribute to creating a safer environment for officers and inmates.
He said the gesture demonstrated the positive impact of collaboration between public-spirited individuals and correctional institutions in improving custodial facilities.
Similarly, the Controller of Corrections, Kano State Command, CC Ahmed Yusuf Lakpene, fsi, commended the lawmaker for the intervention, describing it as a contribution towards improving the operational environment of the Service.
The command called on individuals, organisations and other stakeholders to emulate the gesture by supporting the Nigerian Correctional Service in strengthening custodial administration and promoting the welfare, security and rehabilitation of inmates.
The statement was signed by CSC Musbahu Lawan K/Nasarawa, Command Public Relations Officer.
