Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state has described the passing away of Malam Ado Gwaram, as a great loss and shocking.
In a statement signed by his Cheif press secretary malam Abba Anwar,the governor said “The death of Malam Ado Gwaram is a loss of a rare gem and a compendium of teaching profession and above all, service to humanity.”
Being one of the first set of people who were trained as professional teachers with National Certificate of Education (NCE) in mid 60s, Malam Gwaram, according to the governor, was amongst those who shaped the administration of education in the country, particularly, Northern part.
“We received the sad information about the death of Malam Ado Gwaram, when we needed him the most. He was an envelope of excellence and hard work. He served the state diligently in different capacities in the education sector and administrative capacity,” he noted.
Governor Ganduje extended condolence to the families of the deceased, “…on behalf of the people and government of Kano state, I am extending our condolences to his family. May Allah grant him Jannatul Fiddaus, ameen.”
“Malam Ado Gwaram was patriotic, highly disciplined, down-to-earth, diligent and excelled in his chosen career. He served the state with an exceptional love for the state,” appreciated the governor.
He also appreciated that the late Gwaram set a pace for selfless service to humanity, with his sterling qualities as a teacher, seasoned administrator, very caring father, role model, “…who, together with like minds, kick-started and oiled quality teaching in this part of the country.”
“It is equally important for our teachers at all levels of education to always copy from his legacies as a teacher with acquired excellence and genuine commitment to serve,” he urged.
Concluding that, the state lost an illustrious son, whose remarkable role as a civil servant, from the scratch reshaped, re-jig and re-engineered public service to truly become an engine room for effective and efficient governance.
