The verdict has been passed, the APC of the Ganduje faction floors the G-7 coalition presided over by the Senator and former governor, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau.
The ruling was made by the federal high court of appeals in Abuja, who testified and validated the election of Abdullahi Abbas as the state chairman of the party.
During his acceptance speech, shortly after his faction emerged victoriously, Governor, Ganduje who was visibly seen encircled by the top party stakeholders, overpowered with joy, smiling from ear to ear, to the extent of repeating the earlier politically sardonic title, the G-7 as “Banza Bakwai”.
This inspired the APC’s reigning singer Rarara to release sarcastic lyrics titled ” Banza – 7 sun Kasa amo”
While on the flip side of the conflict, the head of the G-7 Senator Ibrahim Shekaru was heard over the radio, responding to the court, vowing to challenge the verdict at the Supreme Court.
Also, In an emotionally laden voice, Senator Shekarau expresses his reservations, citing fishy tendencies from the national party, under Mai Mala Buni which led to the court favouring the Ganduje faction, while he stated that despite winning the cases in two previous court ruling, but they weren’t considered to be awarded a certificate of return pending the outcome of this latest court ruling.
Kano APC crisis: Sheath Your Swords For Peace To Reign – APC Maslaha Groups Tells Warring Groups
Well, it is too early to be preemptive of what might transpire resulting from this APC’s tug of war in Kano. Only time can tell.
But whatever the case may be, a single hand can’t clap, it takes two clapped hands to make a popping sound.
Kano, being a state having a numerical value and strength in terms of having a popular vote, which the strong parties APC – PDP are rat racing in canvassing for massive votes. None of them can’t afford to miss out on Kano.
At the state level, it’s either the G-7 coalition under Shekarau to decamped to another party for lacking breathing space or to resort by staying in the party and only God knows what brand of tsunami to be fabricated in the 2023 elections.
While from the Ganduje’s faction, the horse-trading era with feuding side is seemingly over, the sequel to the court ruling.
Even though, the olive branches approach was extended to G-7 members to come up and sheath the swords. But this is been heard as a mere sugar-coated, political rhetoric.
Now the contemporary heating of the inside polity of APC in Kano, the daggers are drawn out of their sheath between Ganduje faction and G-7, the opposition clock is set ticking in Kano’s APC, while the hearts are pounding on being apprehensive to fall in political oblivion.
Whatever the outcome of the court ruling had the G-7 filed the suit up the Supreme Court, the cracked floor is already late and hard to be cemented.
The next governor’s chair of Kano state is for the lucky ones or it’s manna from heaven to the unexpected.
