The member representing Rano, Kibiya and Bunkure Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, has announced a total breakdown of political relations between him and Senator Suleiman Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila, citing alleged betrayal and political conspiracy.
Rurum made the declaration during his affirmation as the sole candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the House of Representatives seat covering the three local government areas.
The event took place on Saturday evening in Rano town and attracted party supporters and stakeholders from across the constituency.
According to the lawmaker, the decision to sever political ties with the senator was based on what he described as acts of disloyalty and scheming against him.
He alleged that the senator had failed to honour prior agreements aimed at protecting the unity and political strength of Kano South.
Rurum further accused the senator of engaging in actions capable of undermining his reputation, including allegedly inviting individuals to openly insult and disrespect him without justification.
He said such actions were unacceptable and contrary to the values they once shared.
The federal lawmaker, however, reaffirmed his commitment to the APC and his constituents, assuring them of continued representation and dedication to the development of Rano, Kibiya and Bunkure.
