The Kano State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening collaboration with the Federal Government and development partners to improve the education sector in the state.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf made the pledge while receiving the Minister of State for Education, Suwaiba Sa’id Ahmed, during a courtesy visit at the Government House, Kano, according to a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad.
The governor stated that his administration would continue to support all initiatives aimed at advancing education, noting that the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment has played a key role in boosting infrastructure and teacher development across the state.
Earlier, Prof. Suwaiba Sa’id Ahmed disclosed that Kano State had secured a “No Objection” from the World Bank for the construction of 49 new schools valued at N23 billion, adding that contractors have already been mobilized to commence work.
She commended the state government for maintaining quality standards in school projects and noted that the new schools would expand access to education for underserved communities, urging the AGILE project to adopt similar standards.
