In a landmark address, Yunusa Tanko, the newly appointed Interim National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, rallied supporters, emphasizing the movement’s commitment to good governance, justice, and equity.
Tanko’s endorsement comes as the movement seeks to consolidate its organization and leverage its gains.
The Obidient Movement formed in response to the 2019 election and the subsequent hardship and incompetence, brought together Nigerians from diverse backgrounds, united by a desire for change.
With 12.5 million registered supporters and growing, the movement faced numerous challenges, including coordination.
Tanko announced the movement’s consolidation efforts would begin in the North West zone, comprising seven states: Kano, Jigawa, Kaduna, Katsina, Kebbi, Zamfara, and Sokoto.

This zone, with 22,672,373 registered voters, is Nigeria’s most populous but struggles with infrastructural development and social amenities.
Tanko reaffirmed the movement’s objectives, prioritizing unity, inclusivity, and equity.
He vowed to address systematic inequalities and promote fairness, justice, and equal access to resources and opportunities.
Tanko invited all Nigerians to join the movement, regardless of political affiliation, to build a united, inclusive, and equitable society.

He emphasized the importance of social media and internet platforms in furthering the movement’s objectives.
The Obidient Movement will soon launch a formal registration process for members and intending members.
This registration aims to enhance coordination and impact, ensuring a brighter future for Nigeria.
